Production Control (Operations Management) manage the manufacturing process; allowing for the production of over 500,000 vehicles yearly, in addition to other automotive products. We link the operations of Supply Chain Management with the production process, ensuring customer demand is at the forefront of our operations.

Operations Management work closely with global suppliers to develop Business and Capacity Management plans; ensuring we produce quality products for all our customers.  You will work on innovative new models with technologies such as Autonomous-Drive and next-generation electric vehicles. A successful Operations Manager will be a confident communicator, with strong organisational skills and eager to take on real responsibility from day one.

Operations Management Graduate Programme

Our Operations Management department is a complex, multi-dimensional function, requiring experts in:

  • Logistics
  • Inventory Control
  • Just in Time
  • Supply Chain Management

With every car manufactured to order at Nissan Sunderland, you will be part of a team who must ensure a seamless and cost-effective manufacturing operation that enables the delivery of some 500,000 cars a year.

Over the course of the programme you will gain hands-on experience in at least 2 of the 3 main department functions; scheduling, parts control and design change control. This could be in the main vehicle processes or supporting internal processes like aluminium casting.

You will also have the chance to be involved in major project studies as well as the restructuring of systems and processes to accommodate new model manufacturing.
