Our Quality Technical Support Apprenticeship offers you the chance to develop expertise and your career in this crucial function. Our Quality Technical Support apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to develop and grow both your education and practical experience. You’ll learn new skills and concepts at college, then have the chance to put these into action at the plant. As a member of our Quality Technical Support team, you will investigate the quality of our vehicles and components, working alongside your colleagues to ensure quick analysis of concerns, followed by the development and implementation of solutions. You will also work cross functionally with other departments including Engineering, Production, and Design to guarantee the highest possible quality standards across all our vehicles, ensuring the best possible driving experience for our customers.

Entry requirements – 4 GCSE grades or equivalent (achieved or predicted)

  • Mathematics (Grade A/C or 4 min)
  • English Language (Grade A-C or 4 min)
  • Science-based subject (Grade A-C or 4 min)
  • One other subject (Grade A-C or 4 min)

You must be prepared to travel to and from Nissan Sunderland Plant, Washington Road, Sunderland, SR5 3NS

Applicants must be 16 or over at the start of the apprenticeship. The recruitment process is carried out at Nissan Sunderland Plant SR5 3NS and you must be prepared to attend assessments as required.

Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and proof will be requested during the selection process.

We carry out pre-employment testing for the use of drugs and alcohol during the recruitment process.

What you’ll be doing

Apprenticeship overview:

This is a 3-year scheme, that’s been specially developed by Nissan in conjunction with a local college which combines theoretical and practical skills. You will gain valuable insight into all aspects of automotive and manufacturing quality.   You’ll also acquire the skills and knowledge you’ll need to work as a key member of our Quality Technical Support team at Nissan.

You’ll spend your first year at college full-time before the exciting work starts at our plant.  During years two and three you’ll work full-time, spending one day per week on day release at college, and four days at the plant where you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge whilst building world class experience.

What you’ll achieve at the end of your Apprenticeship*

  • Level 2 Apprenticeship in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
  • Potential to progress to HNC, depending on performance
