DANIEL

Metrology QA Engineer

“At Nissan I get the chance to make a difference – we don’t just have to do what we’re told. I have real autonomy and control over my work.”

Daniel developed a brand new white light scanner measuring system that reduced cycle time from eight to two hours. It was up to him to drive the project forward – from identifying a gap in our capabilities, researching and identifying a solution, going through the procurement process and eventually implementing the new technology.

Life as a QA Engineer

Working collaboratively with teams across Nissan and our global supply network, QA is a driving force that keeps quality on track across production and manufacturing processes

Nissan has a strong culture of continuous improvement in everything we do. You’ll influence existing processes and manufacturing methods to meet our KPIs of Quality, Cost, Time and Delivery, using data and on-the-ground insight. At the same time, you’ll collaborate with highly-skilled, cross-functional teams to identify, specify and install new equipment and processes that support quality in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Responsibility from Day One

As a Nissan QA Engineer you’ll enjoy responsibility for your zone from day one, tackling problems and tasks using your own unique approach. Acting as a conduit between multiple departments, you’ll work in a diverse, energised environment with daily challenges to solve across our in-house vehicle production operations.

At the Forefront of New Technology

You’ll get the chance to develop best practices and cost efficiencies in both your daily work and projects. You’ll work at the forefront of new technology in the automotive sector, including automation of inspection processes, high capability and innovative measurement techniques. This also includes meeting regulatory requirements for production.

Life as a Process Planning Engineer

This is a team that others come to for solutions. A team that takes the vision of the design team and turns it into a reality on the shop floor. Working to Cost, Quality, Time, and delivery KPIs, you’ll develop the tools and processes we need to manufacture our world-leading cars.

A Team of Natural Innovators

Our Process Planning Engineers are natural innovators with curious minds, looking to improve processes and efficiencies with an analytical and problem-solving mindset. They work daily on a wide range of process-related projects from technical quality concerns to new product launches.

Support from the Digital HyperComp Team

The introduction of our dedicated Digital Hyper-Competitiveness programme is taking the latest in world technological developments in hardware, automation, AI, R&D, wearable tech, and AR/VR to improve our efficiency and competitive position on a global scale. As a Nissan Process Planning Engineer you are involved in finding a place for these technologies in our daily manufacturing processes. The future of Nissan is huge and embracing the very latest in tech is a focused part of our strategy to stay at the forefront of automotive innovation.

Life as a Facilities Engineer

From design to build, installation to commissioning, our Facilities Engineers ignite progress across our production lines, keeping everything running smoothly. They work closely with other departments to reach the highest standards of efficiency, safety and quality.

Project Management

Our Facilities Engineers lead projects and provide technical support, handling system planning, project design, and managing contractors on site. They help install machinery and equipment that truly improve the plant. Key duties include working with CE marking, safety rules, and managing outdated equipment. Like all our engineering teams, they enjoy real independence in their work.

Varied Engineering

The role is particularly varied, with both mechanical and electrical engineering elements and the support to develop a breadth of skills across both disciplines. Working with equipment such as robotic and manual assembly lines, jig and robot cells, presses, injection-moulding systems, casting & machining facilities as well as other PLC-based systems, this technical-based position ensures no two days are the same.

Life as a Vehicle Engineer

Our Vehicle Engineers are a world-class team of hands-on problem-solvers. A conduit between vehicle design and final production, Vehicle Engineers guarantee that the plant is ready to manufacture new models while ensuring work on existing vehicles continues.

A World-Class Team of Experts

Our Vehicle Engineers work flexibly and autonomously, always supported by a world-class team.

With the department split into new-model and current-model development, our Vehicle Engineers directly influence the evolution and improvement of vehicles across interior, exterior and chassis. This role opens opportunities for learning and development at every turn, whether you want to become an expert in a particular field or develop an overarching view of vehicle production.

It’s a role that demands rapid decision-making in challenging situations. A drive for variety and the ability to make quick, sound judgments are essential.

Responsibility from Day One

Working through new model challenges and ongoing projects for current models means our Vehicle Plant Engineers must collaborate daily with both global and local teams, sometimes travelling with international project teams. Enjoying responsibility from day one, they work sensitively with other teams on design, process and supplier changes to ensure best vehicle quality output while meeting ambitious cost and efficiency targets. Our Vehicle Engineers are the key to the cross-functional team that ensures our vehicle designs are feasible from concept through production to final customer delivery.

“By utilising engineering & environmental principles, you can make a big impact within the automotive industry and at the same time drive environmental improvements. This provides opportunity to develop a good career and be involved in lots of interesting projects”
