Life as a Vehicle Engineer

Our Vehicle Engineers are in the driving seat of our vehicle production

Acting as a conduit between vehicle design and the reality of final production, our Vehicle Engineers work to make our vehicle assembly processes some of the best in the world and ensure our cars reach customers with optimum quality and efficiency.

A World-Class Team of Experts

Daily problem-solving means our Vehicle Engineers work flexibly and autonomously, but with the support of a world-class team of experts in production, maintenance, design, and engineering by their side. It’s a role that requires fast thinking in challenging situations, as others look to this team for solutions and innovations in moments of pressure. There are also opportunities to work on exciting new model projects, playing a direct role in the future of the business.

Responsibility from Day One

Whether they work in Engine Bay, Underbody (Chassis), Exterior, Doors or Interior, our Vehicle Engineers enjoy responsibility from day one, tackling problems and tasks using their own unique approach in an environment where colleagues are proud of the work they deliver. In return, we offer a culture of transparency, reward, and recognition where rotations, training and development allow them to become the engineer they want to be.

Anna

Trim & Chassis Vehicle Engineer

“Nissan has helped me achieve my dream of competing in the Paralympics. Thanks to their support and flexibility, I’ve been able to pursue my passions for both engineering and athletics.”

Anna started competing in shotput events as a teenager, but soon realised she also had a passion for science and problem solving. Initially working hard as a Graduate Engineer during the day and training hard during evenings and weekends, when Anna began training for international competitions Nissan was there to support her. She was given the flexibility to take leave and work part-time, train at the on-site Sports & Social complex, and even hold interviews with the media at work, allowing her to maximise her time and maintain a great work life balance. Anna competed in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics and has her sights set on Paris 2024 – knowing she has Nissan’s full support to get her there.
