Just over a decade after the category-defining vehicle made its debut, the three millionth Nissan Qashqai has rolled off the production line at the Sunderland plant.

With almost 347,000 units produced in 2017, 265,000 of which were sold in Europe, the Qashqai continues to play a pivotal role in Nissan Europe’s sales success. More than 762,000 Nissan, Infiniti and Datsun models were sold in the last calendar year, marking a new sales record.

Qashqai sales grew 1.2 per cent overall, with Russia (12.4 per cent) and Spain (9.4 per cent) seeing the most significant market growth.

The Qashqai is the most successful model in Nissan Europe’s history, successfully blending the practicality and desirability of an SUV with the footprint, driving dynamics and running costs of a hatchback.

Last year, the Qashqai was refreshed with upgrades focused on four areas – a contemporary new exterior design, higher levels of interior quality, improved driving performance, and the addition of new Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies to deliver even greater levels of customer comfort, reassurance and trust.
